Not printing extrusion calibration

I updated my firmware yesterday, and while the printer seems to be printing fine, no adhesion issues, the printer is not printing the extrusion calibration lines anymore. It operates as though its printing them, but the hot-end doesn’t heat up, and the nozzle is easily 1-1.5mm off the bed.
And yes, the check box is clicked on when I send to printer.

We’ve had a similar issue, although not as bad as yours, we just can’t get fine detail like lettering to stick on the first layer which is a huge problem for us. I’m beginning to think the issue with all of the firmware updates (apart from the connectivity issues) is that they’ve raised the z offset parameters of the printers, both P1P and X1C after they carry out bed levelling. It would explain pretty much all of the print issues that we’ve had for a day or so.

Have you checked the first layer heights in the preset profiles? I changed mine to the same as my layer heights aka not increasing the first layer.

Mike

I haven’t changed my first layer height from the presets, the printer is still printing fine, its just the extrusion calibration that isn’t printing.

Intersting…I have no problems with adhesion, although I am using a different water soluble glue. I have another printer, a Markforged, and they use this Elmers which I use on my X1C as well, and it works really well, better than the BambuLabs stuff and any other adhesive I’ve tried

Double check that the correct printer is selected in the profile in Bambu Slicer

Sometimes after the update folks are finding it defaults from the X1 to the P1P

Did that as well. Like I said, it does all the movements of scanning and printing the extrusion lines, all of them, but never gets close enough to the bed. I also looked to see if the extruder was doing anything and I can clearly see the extruder gear isn’t moving.

After the firmware update did you power the printer off then on again ?

Sorry if nothing I’m suggesting is working, we’re just starting with the basics

Hey, I appreciate the help. So after this last print finished, I did another restart (and unplugged for a few minutes) and recalibrated and now it’s printing the extrusion calibration lines.

Not sure what happened, but it seems to have corrected itself for now.

Bambu actually advised to restart the printer after a firmware update :metal:
Super stoked you got it sorted

yes very important, after Firmware update, restart, turn off and on and do a complete calibration.

Well it’s doing it again, I’ll restart again later and see what happens. This firmware is definitely buggy.

It’s worth checking that Bambu Slicer is up to date as well

But thats s**ty that this is happening again
