Nothing but Issues since new firmware

Yes, you cannot use first layer with a textured plate. I don’t even want to think about the mess it would output if it accounted for the texture of the plate. :grimacing:

I thought that was most likely the case i was just sure it was doing it for a while but maybe i just thought it was lol

The firmware (1.0.4.01.00) isn’t a roll back. Something about flow calibration has been rolled back other changes are new and include complaining or inhibiting first layer inspection when using a textured PEI plate.

I have always considered first layer inspection to be a waste of time because I don’t have bad first layers and if I have changed something that might mess up the first layer I will be there to see it and notice before the layer has even finished.

As far as know first layer inspection does nothing more than pause the print if if thinks the first layer isn’t looking good it doesn’t change anything.

I am aware, I am not quite understanding what you mean. Could you please elaborate in case I missed something?

I just got the notification of the new firmware. I am afraid to do it since everyone else’s problems. I know this is supposed to be the fix, but I don’t have any problems that I am aware of.

If its working how you want with no issues i might be favoured to say dont update. I did a cold pull few times with cleaning filament on mine and that cured my above spaghetti issues.

Had no issues before and after the update.

How did you pull that off (pun intended, but Q was real)?

I haven’t had to on this machine yet but I thought you couldn’t disengage the extruder …?

EDIT: NM! Just found this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZd9LfbqSOE&t=6s

Yeah as per video works a treat. Did it 3 times and have needed to fo this twice since owning which isnt a problem. Its just something to look out for if its under extruding

I had to do a few cold pulls because I’m an idiot and accidentally loaded up some 3 year old dusty Amazon basics black ABS by mistake thinking it was black PLA

I was tired after another 14 hour day fixing filthy broken down reefers in the field all day and just wasn’t paying attention

Out of nowhere I could not get any prints to work off slot 4 in my AMS, when I pulled the spool out of the AMS I saw what I had done and was relieved but p**sed lol

Did a few cold pulls and the amount of junk stuck to my white PLA told me that was the right thing to do

Not to mention it’s actually a very easy procedure :man_shrugging:

LOL! We’ve all been there. Get so tired you trigger Id10t mode. Thx for the chuckle.

They put out guidance that you can perform the flow calibration with a smooth plate like engineering or cold, and then the machine has the data stored and you can swap to the textured plate. Also what temp are you running the PEI sheet at? I’ve never seen a PEI sheet do that unless it wasn’t 60c or higher or the filament wa super wet.

Mine was running the bed at the standard 55c for the textured plate. Havent had anymore issues really since the last cold pull. Was having no luck with the textured plate on few prints, was getting under extrusion so.wasnt sticking but the cold pull with cleaning filament and same program ran no problems after that.

New X1C updated to the latest FW, since what came with the printer had Z homing issue and I cannot even start printing.

Just printed a couple of PLA presliced benchies on coldplate with bambu glue stick applied.

Then tried to print small presliced scraper and immediately it’s handle peeled off.
Also printed 25mm cube generated directly in bambu studio with the same PLA on standart settings.
I have noticed that it came off very easily and one of the corners slightly warped and peeled off the bed.

New printer, and I have already experienced three common issues: bad adhesion, VFA and warped bed.

I gave up on the cold plate real quick for those same reasons. Textured PEI for me only, and working on a Boron plate much like the glass plate to bandaid a warped bed, but for smooth bottom layers and adhesion.

Try a brim on your handle. I’ve always had long objects start pulling off the bed if conditions were not absolutely perfect.

Thanks, I know, it is not my first printer.
Just do not understand why Bambu included presliced models if they won’t stick.

I suspect they have changed some temps for the various plates while adding profile for the new PEI plate.

They probably just never thought to update the presliced models to the new settings.

I must admit since getting the textured plate its very rare i go back to the cold plate now. Only if i really need a smooth finish on the bottom. Many items i really like the textured finish though on thay face
