Notification for reaching user specified temperatures

Having a notification option in Bambu Handy and Studio for when the printer reaches a certain temperature on the nozzle and on the build plate would be helpful.

For example, I want to be notified when the build plate reaches 35 C or cooler because parts release from the build plate better once it is cooled. As it stands, I get a notification when the printer finishes printing, but I can’t remove the part easily until it cools down.

Also, if I was waiting for the nozzle on my A1 to cool down enough that it is safe to touch and swap with another nozzle, it would be good to have a notification for this as well.

This notification could be an option one could select on the send print job screen, along with “bed leveling” and “flow dynamics calibration”…

All notifications go through the BL servers.

Whilst this seems like a decent idea, BL might consider the ability to add even more notifications into the mix “a server load too far”.

It would require firmware changes to all printers and Bambu Studio.

Maybe then there could be an option to change the print complete notification. You could have an option to select “Notifiy when printing complete” or “notify when printing complete AND bed cooled” when sending a print job.

I could see this working fairly well, it is the same number of notifications as before, just more specific in its meaning.

Different parts take different times before they can be released, the same is true for material types and build-plates.

^^^ for info only.

Notifications for print completion, errors, and cancellation already take from ten to 40 minutes after the event to reach me. I would rather have the delays reduced before adding more events to the notification list.

See here Wait for Hotend Temperature | Marlin Firmware

Not sure if the R option works on BL printers, but if it does then adding an m109 to your end gcode might make notifications wait until the bed is cooled down.

I know this is a few weeks old but, I had the same want of getting notified when the build plate cooled down, and did come up with a work around for this. It took a bit of work to setup but I have it working now. I have my P1S integrated into my home assistant server I have running which then sends me a notification once my build plate temp falls below my set temperature. I know it’s not directly through the bambu app but thought this might be helpful!
