Nozzle Clip Spring Buckle Not Shutting

Oh wow! Thanks! Spent half an hour struggling with the clip, just to have it snap in place the moment it hit 160c.

Please note that the clip seems to be closed incorrectly and this can lead to problems.

The wire latch has two small sections that go in the middle.

This video should help you re-install the nozzle correctly:

Thanks for the note. Also the customer service from my ticket said my latch is closed in correctly.
In your video, you push the latch with 1 finger and closes. In all of my 3 previous heating assemblies, this was the case.
I wish I could post the video of how I mangled the latch I got with this defective heating assembly. I had to muscle it into its place witch great force using pliers.
The way I closed it first was how I thought it would close. Looking at his photo, I squeezed it in the middle and flow control is achieved, but I would have liked to have the heating assembly I got replaced as it is defective at the latch area.

Apparently I am not getting the right support that I had to repeat. Like many others who have continuous problems because of defective latches.
Yet I still am not getting the adequate support.

Keep preaching.

preheating worked for me - got to about 60c and it closed… Thank you!

I do hope you figured out why you were having trouble with the nozzle clip spring buckle not shutting. I had a bit of difficulty when I first tried it and found tiny bits of plastic stuck on the magnet side which pushed the nozzle out to where the spring buckle would not close. The pieces do not have to be very big to cause this issue. In fact, I had to use a very sharp pick to get the pieces out of the buckle itself. Once I got it cleaned, voila, it snapped in properly.
I have changed from .4 nozzle to .2 nozzle pretty regularly and have had the issue several times. Now I just make it a habbit to clean all the parts well before reassembly.
Good luck with that.

I’ve been having an issue with my spring latch for a while noe, also. In fact, I was having a real hard time closing it earlier today doing some clog maintenance. I was putting it back in while hot and the latch wouldn’t close. I eventually got it but the bottom part of the clip pulled through the bottom housing, so now I think I need to replace the part but don’t know exactly what I need. Is this the entire housing that needs to be replaced because of the spring clip housing?

Heater Assembly:

That is NOT the way the buckle is closing for me. The part on the left is not aligned properly so it is a problem every time I change nozzles.

If you can, please share a picture so we can better see how it looks like and offer some suggestions.

From your message, it sounds like there might be a mechanical problem with it, and it might require a replacement of the Hotend Heating Assembly.

A link for it is available in the post just above yours.

None of the videos have a heated nozzle. It shouldn’t be this hard. I think mine is defective.

Buy 10 of them. They break regularly.

When I first got my A1, the filament did not stick to the bed and ended up poking the filament up into the silicon sock and up around the spring clips. It was a real booger to cut that nasty stuff away from the hot end and clean those mating surfaces and the spring and clasp. The last time it did that the hot plastic wrapped around the nozzle, the temp sensor wires and the heater wires. The parts were not very expensive and were easy to replace, it just took time and patience. BambuLabs has a good tutorial on how to do it with the least mistakes.

the situation might differ from people to people, however if the joint that holds the buckle is not properly aligned then yes it might cause some problem. However just try to preheat it to about 200 first then see if it works or not before replacing it or just buying something else entirely.

that little latch gives me so much woe on my a1 mini but not my a1. its sad that i may have to replace the entire assembly because a piece of metal with less material than a paperclip is bent out of shape.

Made the account just to say thanks you, heating it really makes it work
