Nozzle dragging and causing lines

0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layer height
Orca Slicer with Generic PLA profile for all 3 colors
Nothing was changed in the filament settings for the Generic profile

It put the white down first, then did the orange, and finally the black areas. But you can see the path of the black filament as it moves from spot to spot printing the walls. It’s coming through the front of the print so what do I need to change in my settings to stop this?

It’s filament ooze.
If your using the Generic PLA setting, it’s too hot…IMO.
If it’s PLA, set temp to 210*, if PLA Pro, 215*

This is with PLA at 210. Should I go lower? Or adjust travel speed?

Try turning on Z Hop that might help a little.

Should I do it for the filament profile or the nozzle profile?

Filament profile, this way you can turn it on only for the Black.

I print my black PLA at 205 and slow the speed of the first layer WAY down. I also enable z-hop and retraction and that seems to help solve this issue for me.

What are your z hop and retraction settings?

Still happening. Here’s my retraction settings.

Here’s what I use in addition to lowering the temp to 205

I think I finally figured it out. I change the black to be only one layer thick and had it print that first. That plus the retraction settings seems to be what’s working for me.
