Hello,
I’m having trouble changing the nozzle type in Bambu Studio. I mean, I don’t quite understand how it’s supposed to be set. On the device itself, I have the nozzle set to hardened steel, because that’s the one installed in the printer, but when I go into the printer settings in Bambu Studio, it shows stainless steel. Should I manually change it there to hardened steel as well? Why doesn’t it update automatically?
I’m attaching a photo that shows the problem.
If you close and reopen studio does it sync it? I never modify the settings on the machine, I just change it in studio, since that’s what tells the flow rate and all, never had a problem doing it that way
It doesn’t change after reopening.
To have it set to hardened steel, I have to create a new printer profile, which is a poor solution.
Why would have have to make a new profile? Change the nozzle type to hardened steel on the device tab, select the diameter, then go back to the prepare tab and keep doing what you were doing. As long as you select the right diameter under the printer in the top left you should be good and not have to worry about it again.
I switch from stainless 0.2 to hardened 0.4/0.6 pretty frequently and the only thing I ever touch is the device tab and the nozzle diameter
Are you sure this setting doesn’t override the one on the printer itself?
It isn’t overriding anything, it’s setting the nozzle on both. Look at what your printer is setup as, then back one step out of that menu. Go to studio and change the nozzle to something different in the device tab. Go back to the printer and check again, you will see that the nozzle is now updated to whatever you put in Studio
Changing the setting for my X1C nozzle size/ type on the connected printer immediately changes it on the Studio Device tab. Changing the nozzle in Device Tab/Printer Parts immediately changes the setting on the printer.
The printer profile does not need to be adjusted for nozzle material, only nozzle diameter, and there are already profiles available for all standard nozzle sizes.
Changing nozzle diameter on the printer or on the Device tab does not change the printer profile (or nozzle diameter) on the Prepare tab.
