I made a little stool and ran the prototyping test print before getting the file in order. I am happy with the print and wanted to upload to MakerWorld but cannot seem to get the file right. On some angles it looks fine, on others you can see it conflict with where I joined the SVG and the model part I made. I have tried to mesh but Bambu Studio shuts down. I am pretty new to model making and spent 8 hours watching youtube tutorial or reading about how to fix and I’m no closer. If anyone has a moment, could you please tell me what I am doing wrong. Printer is an A1 mini, I tried both the new version of Bambu Studio and the one prior. Thanks
I’m not sure exactly what is causing your problem. I try not to rely on the boolean operations in Bambu Studio so I’m not surprised they didn’t work for you. One issue is that the quality of the SVG file you are using is poor. If you zoom in on the lines, they are not solid and are broken up into a lot of little islands. That’ll cause problems with the crispness of the printed image and will probably cause problems with the mesh boolean operations.
What I ended up doing is just moving the SVG slightly above the surface of the chair so that the top svg layer doesn’t conflict with the chair. To do that, I selected those elements and adjusted the z value by 0.2 mm.
The second plate, I flipped it upside down and instead, moved the SVG file slightly down through the build plate. I’m not sure if that does anything but flipping upside down may give you a more consistent surface quality and eliminates the supports that are needed in your leg holes.
Wow thank you very much. I really appreciate the time you spent to do this. I’ll give the upside down version a test print as that might be the better option. I realised I need way more skills to attempt what I though would be a simple stool.
