The A1 Mini I bought for my grandson and daughter last week has finally been assembled, and I went to do a first print. I got an error first thing. Full disclosure, I’ve had a P1S for about a month (so I’m still pretty green) and it was supper easy to set up. The error on the A1 Mini was a reminder to run self-test but I couldn’t find anything about it online. Long story short, a screen popped up to run calibrations (nothing was mentioned about it on the wiki or forum). It was during this process that I started hearing what sounds like liner rail bearing noise on the X axis, noise that was not present on the Y axis. Anyone else hear noisy bearings on their Mini in the beginning and did it eventually quiet down? I only mention it because the P1S was so quiet (in that respect). I’m running it’s first print, a container for the purge strips that sits on the AMS, and it seems pretty quiet. It could be I only hear it during the fast movements.

I have the same issue
Sounds like a bad bearing on the x Axis
That’s exactly what I was hearing, the ticking sound of a bearing. It didn’t start right away but as the speed tests ramped up, I started to hear it, and it continued until it finished the self-test. The first thing I printed was a “poop” deflector and basket combo, and I didn’t hear the ticking then. I guess it only happens when it’s printing at ludicrous speed. I put some oil on the liner rails, and I’ll just have to keep an eye (or ear) on it and see. BTW, welcome to the forum, discobot says this is your first post.
