Odd top layer with PETG

I’m having some odd issues with the top finish
when printing in PETG. I have my top layer and
outer wall layer set to the same speed of 100. i
attached a picture of the model in the slicer where a showcases that it is all being printed the same speed but as you can see in the pictures the outer walls are nice and shiny but the top surface of the print is extremely matte. l’m not sure why I even tried lowering the top surface to 60 resulting with the same matte finish in the second picture. Does anyone know why this is occurring? It should all be the same finish since it’s the same speed.

No…while the toplayers get touched by the nozzle, the outlines are untouched bulges from the molten plastic…guess you are new to 3d printing?
Take a look at this Nozzle Cam video

So the nozzle isn’t hot enough and it’s printing too fast causing it to print matte? Even at 60? Idk you still haven’t really explained it. I get what you’re saying but I didn’t have this issue before. Also wouldn’t this also be present when printing other filaments.

the shine of the finish depends on the filament formula also…there are plenty of matte filiaments that are matte on the sides too. So no…for me its a elemental 3d printing issue and its getting better or worser depending on the filament…there are some very glossy filaments where also the top area gets a shine…but not so shiny as the sides

It’s possible that this is caused by insufficient hotend temperature - I’ve had cases of PETG appearing matte or even underextruding at high flows. I suggest checking the Flow color type under the Color scheme dropdown in the Preview tab of BambuSlicer. My experience with “generic PETG” seems to show that flows above 15mm^3/s or so require bumping the temperature slightly to prevent issues. Try increasing the printing temperature to 280º after the first layer, or even higher up to 290º if that doesn’t resolve the issue.

If this persists on a specific filament it might point to an issue with the filament itself though.
