Older Firmware P1P Can't Login - Already using 2.4ghz

I have a P1P on loan from a friend of mine who bought it early and never connected it to the internet. It’s on firmware version 1.00.00.00.

I am trying to get it connected to my account. I have a 2.4/5.0 modem router combo from windstream, but have ensured the two SSIDs are different and that it’s connected to the 2.4ghz one. When I try to bind it via the handy app, I get the generic login failed message although the printer manages to connect to the network and gets an IP address assigned to it.

I have also tried using my iPhone as a hotspot. I get a fault LAN connection error then.

I have also tried connecting to my account using Bambu Studio once the P1p is on my network. I either get a -1070 Failed to Parse Login Error OR -1020 Failed to connect to socket. I have also tried connecting a separate router to my modem to use as an access point and am faced with the same issues. I have placed the printer on DMZ, forwarded ports, etc. I suspect a firmware update would get me past this issue, but I can’t use an SD card for a firmware update until a higher version like 1.00.4 or something. I have also tried placing the wifi credentials on the sd card in the .cfg file that has been mentioned elsewhere.

What other options am I missing?

May not be part of the problem but some where it seems like it is mentioned that there are certain characters the printer will not recognize in a wi-fi password. Seems like they were of the “non-standard” type but I really don’t remember.

Thank you for responding! I tried this and it wasn’t the solution, but I ended up contacting support and they gave me a firmware file to put on the sd card, and it fixed the issue.
