So I gouged one of my 2 engineering plates :frowning:
Looking for another but did they discontinue it? I see only PEI, hologram stuff, and the new supertack, did they stop manufacturing them? :0

Unfortunately they do not sell the engineering plate anymore and they don’t have a replacement for it.

I have a Biqu CryoGrip Pro Glacier build plate that is similar ish to the engineering plate. Not sure what else is out there that would be a good replacement.

I tried another engineering plate clone from Aliexpress and while it looks similar, it was not the same and the adhesion was much worse.

The plate you linked is much more expensive that other Ali plates - but that doesn’t always mean better.

Can I ask just how close it is to the original Bambu engineering plate in finish and adhesion? Tempted to try it out

Still sucks that Bambu discontinued their own. It is the best plate in my opinion.

I’ll get my microscope out and take scrapings, but it does have a slightly different tint to it I think. Hard to tell since my original plate is so old now.

What are people using the engineering plate for?

I received one with the printer, and haven’t had to use it yet.

I prefer it for the texture. I use it for ASA but don’t like the smooth plates.

Would you sell your engineering plate? I’d buy it!!

Yeah. If anyone has an engineering plate they don’t use I’d buy it. My smooth plate is not great for those filaments.

To anyone who comes across this post looking for a replacement - I have tried a couple of the replica engineering plates from Ali, they arent good.

The best option I have found and am happy with is the Biqu Glacier Pro. Just ignore the cool plate part, use it with your usual settings for the engineering plate and it’s great. I no longer need to use glue either. Surface finish is very close to the engineering plate, adhesion is good at engineering plate temps and yet prints just totally separate when the plate cools. I recommend it.
