I have noticed in Bambu Studio (2.7.2.62 and earlier) that if I go to the print history and click on the icon for a print I want to either print again or redesign, that the thumbnail is accurate but the file it opens is an earlier version.
Here is the work flow:
Print a design. Like it and save the file.
Open file at a later time and modify it. Print it and save under the new name.
Go to print history and both thumbnails are correct but the file name is only the older version.
Seems like its the fact that it wasnt saved before it was printed but it gets stranger. If I go to my office in another location and open the print history on that printer, It shows the two different thimh nails. Both have the version 1 file name but when I open the version two print (Using open model button) is downloads and opens the version 1. This office computer has no access to either saved file. Only whats in the printer.
In the slicer I dont have any control named print history
What do you mean?
Devices → Select Device → Storage → Internal → Model ? And downloading from there? Or do you mean some sort of makerworld online feature?
If I’m following you process correctly, you are printing the file and then saving the original .3mf as a new name? The print file (.gcode.3mf) uses the current file name it is created from. This .gcode.3mf file name does not update if you change the original .3mf after slicing/generating the .gcode.3mf file.
To get the updated name you need to make your changes, save as a new name and then generate the print file.
I’ll attempt to clarify. And if that doesn’t work I’ll need to power a vidieo.
Let’s say I create a model of a spoon in Bambu studio. I save it in Bambu studio as a project called spool. Print it and it prints a spoon.
later I modify the spoon in Bambu studio and change it to a fork. Print it. It prints a fork. Happy with my new fork I save the file and call it fork in Bambu studio. I print a few more forks. Maybe I download a model of a cup and print that. Then decide I need another fork. I go to the print history in Bambu studio and open the files with the thumbnail of a fork. Open it, and it’s a spoon.
I also noticed the print history on the touch screen is hit or miss. Of the 30 or so different printed I have made, it only has the last print then skips a bunch and shows printed from months earlier.
So that top photo was opened in bambu studios last night from a saved project and sent to the printer. I have multiple examples and all of them are saved project but they all revert to this original file.
The file name is name on the top file is NOT the saved file name. I dont know where the print history gets that. The file I opened was called Pool Pole hook.
