Akin to how it’s implemented in PrusaSlicer, I think it would be a great feature to fill the build plate of the same object when trying to run a production of parts. I can currently choose the amount of clones I want and delete the ones that won’t fit, but it would be nice if the slicer figured that out for me.
I agree and have actually put in a feature request on github a while back! Please add your comment so they can see it’s wanted.
Much appreciated!
I wonder why so many useful prusa slicer features are missing from studio.
I was looking for this option as well!
Welcome to the forum! That option is in Studio now. Just add an object and right click it. The top option will fill the build plate.
When you want to fill the bed with 2 objects, it’s not possible.
It’s a couple more steps but you can. Select both objects, right click and “save as one stl”. Then open that STL, right click and select “fill bed with copies”.
You can use the clone option also shown in the image above , which allows you to set a number of clones/copies for each object
Another slightly simpler way without having to export is to select both objects, right click and “Merge” them. Then you can clone the “Assembly”. The assembly(s) can then also be split back into objects if needed.
Except now the items won’t be rotated individually for efficiently fit the plate.
