Orca Slicer LAN connection/sync issues

I’ve been having intermittent LAN connection issues ever since the Orca 1.6.4 update. Only happens with Orca, BS works completely fine. The main issue is that ~90% of the time, when I go to send a print, it fails the sync device information step. It then sometimes fixes itself within ~30sec, or stays like that, so I have to go to the device tab and disconnect/reconnect to the printer. The second issue I’m facing is that simply connecting to the printer takes a lot longer in Orca vs BS. In Orca it takes up to a full minute or 2 to connect (or it just refuses to and I have to try again), while BS does it in a matter of seconds.

I have had a brief look online and it seems that nobody else is saying anything. Is anyone else having these issues or am I the only one?

For quite some time, i work in LAN mode only. No problem with BS, but with Orca V1.6.6 i have the same difficulties you mentionned. Difficult to identified exactly what happens but same as you, the connection needs to be reopened few times. Generaly, i open Orca, slice a project, connect the printer and send it the print. But, if i want to send an other project, impossible to do a second time.
And for the moment i never be able to have the cam connected. Still the error that the printer is not on se same LAN !

Might have something todo with the last update, even non LAN Mode had an issue before hotfix,

but you should post an issue on their Github, this forum has no direct connection with the Orca Team as i know

Thanks, while I understand what you’re saying and have posted on their GitHub, they currently have over 500 open bug issues so I don’t place much hope in their rapid solution of this. I was just curious if it is actually a bug, or if it’s something on my side, especially since I’ve not found anyone talking about this.

Just updated to 1.7.0-beta, camera’s fixed :slightly_smiling_face:

Edit: also looks like the LAN connection issue has been fixed

What is the advantage of using Orca over Bambu Studio?
