How to be a fanboy without saying you are a fanboy
This is becoming fun to read. Let me grab my popcorn real quick…

I find it interesting that people feel the need to jump on this thread to tell us (and I’m paraphrasing here):
Nowhere have I told people who don’t agree with my stance on the issue that they should change their minds and fight it with the rest of us…
So why do you feel the need to troll/argue with what we are fighting for?
If you stand by any of the above bullet points, that is your prerogative. But you simply don’t see the dangerous precedents that those points are setting. That’s ok… we do!
There are people who can see danger approaching, whether it be by training or experience.
Those are the people sounding the alarm here.
Just because you don’t understand the danger, doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Aren’t you glad there are people here that recognize the danger so you don’t have to?
None of the changes we are asking for are going to take anything away from you. If anything it will benefit you whether you use them or not.
So, kindly find another way to be productive for the community.
Thank you.
How to lose my respect in one statement. This person was stating their opinion just like hundreds of other people in this thread but because it doesn’t line up with what you believe you demean and try to invalidate them by calling them this. (shake my head)
To be honest, i did not even know what really is the problem.
Stating written facts should not be considered wrong at all. I didn’t say i defend Windows or MacOS, Apple or Android, Iphone or Samsung. Never!
And yet, this user stated much worse, showing his preference and stating Windows as a crappier product… Are you really serious? I am being honest here… Are you?!
So… does it mean that it doesn’t align with what i believe when i don’t have a preference at all? Explain please because i am confused. I would expect to read that from someone that has a strong preference for an operating system only and not from you Jon.
I am the one disappointed here. Did not expect that at all. But it is what it is right?
(shake my head over you shaking your head)
The problem is that a new person to our community, takes the time to post and express their opinion and you treat them like this. There are lots of opinions I don’t agree with on this forum but there never should be a reason you demean someone this way. This is why it is against our community guidelines. Do better, be better for the sake of our community.
100% serious.
I spent about 1k on a P1S+2 AMS and have absolutely 0 regrets, it was my first printer and I will probably always buy Bambu printers, however with the X1E, peoples main use for the X1E is enterprise work, but people are entitled to have LAN only mode since Bambu literally advertises it on their website.
Jon, i totally understand that. And i have been pretty quiet when people clearly show their preference. Until that one quote that, as you said and well, from a new user, that came in through the door screaming “Windows bad, MacOS good!” That is personal preference and opinion.
If that new user could have his opinion, showing fanboyism towards something that he clearly admitted, why should i, or someone else, not state what is there written with big bold letters? That is a what a fanboy is and normally preferences go in the way of a discussion, just like it happened.
Or do you really think that because windows is crappier than macos, it will help with anything in this topic?
I won’t go into more details or anything. Got to learn to stay quiet and that defies the purpose of a discussion board. On topic and i am truly sorry that you think that way. Looks more like a personal preference than anything…
How are you still failing to see the point here? It has nothing to do with what operating system they like. It has everything to do with breaking the community guidlines.
Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree
You may wish to respond by disagreeing. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:
- Name-calling
Yes, we don’t need this fanboyism around here!
But let me tell you about Our Lord And Saviour…
Ok jokes aside, the topic has gone a bit off the rails.
Less stressful on all if we try keeping it friendly.
Then my apologies. Didn’t know that calling someone a defender of a brand is calling names. I used his statement and introduced a known “Meme” and even joked about getting my popcorn because i knew that it would become a “Windows VS Mac” discussion eventually, seeing what is happening all around the forum.
Have a good night and i’ll refrain myself from participating in this topic unless i really need to.
Note: I use Windows for gaming, fusion and rhino, Mac for productivity and editing and Linux for my servers so really… i have no preference and was being honest. I hate those wars because they are user preferences only
lol… shots fired!
I mean, I’m just gonna leave this here:
A fitting meme
Welcome to the community. I loved your meme but I fear it may sail over most people heads.
Here is the full image for those too lazy to click on your link.
Please Bambu Lab, don’t be evil!
Don’t take away the freedom that made your product appealing. I chose to buy your product with the understanding that I could use third-party slicers, particularly open-source ones.
I kindly ask you not to remove this choice from us. While I understand the importance of security, please don’t use it as a justification to limit user options. You can advise users about potential risks, but ultimately, my security should remain my responsibility.
Thank you!
That says a lot
It’s bad, but not as bad as the other user that bypassed his friend firewall.
Bambu will be the “Friendship Doom Bringer” of all times.
“Prepare yourselves, you shall have no friends”
… allegedly “bypassed”… as currently, without any proof, it’s simply “hearsay”.
Speaking of Orcaslicer, there is some implementation going on on their github. Let’s see how it will work. Only time will tell
Edit: Well, not all are roses. Bambu got what they “wanted”. Sad loss but a respectful one from the Orcaslicer dev.
SoftFever said what needed to be said: separate app is NOT the way to go, EVER. It’s not a seamless flow, there’s no gain to users…
Also I said something similar here:
