So I have been having trouble with really bad Z banding I have tried literally everything to fix it. I thought I had fixed it by tightening the Z belt under the printer I was mistaken. It did help but did not fix it today I discovered the experimental setting precise wall and decided why not give it a shot I’ve only done two prints with it so far but it has fixed my Z banding issue completely. The results are amazing. I am so pleased right now figured I would post this. Maybe it could help somebody else out. The photo I have attached is with the setting on (left) one off (right)
Reading SoftFever’s explanation on what this feature is, I can’t understand how it fixed your print. Did you see this Z-banding on multiple models, or just this one?
It was on everything. I have literally been on this forum, read everything that everyone else has tried. I have tried it all including replacing the entire hot end, the carbon rods as well as all the belts I turned this one feature on, and it’s the only thing that has ever fixed my issue.
Is this an Orca advertisement?
I just printed a Spool Core that came out better than either with Bambu Slicer. The line in the back is the seam.
Congratulations? Your printer is not having issues like mine. Thanks for your input I guess?
I have my doubts on that. How many hours do you have on your printer? Do you clean it regularly? Carbon rods? tensioners? Have you re-tensioned XY gantry?
Quite contrary, Z-banding is happening not because of the Z-axis, but mostly because of the jitter movement on XY.
Yes I have done it all. I have had my X1C for about a year and a half. Cleaned it all with 100% pure ipa. Retentioned the belts. Even got new belts. Got those little rubber feet things. I have tried it all short of replacing the stepper motors.
Are you able to share the model itself?
Do you see those issues with other models?
