So, after getting the X2D, I want to get into a few more filaments, like PA and such and venting a it outside. (dont plan on using much ABS/ASA
I will admit I am not a HVAC expert, but I have a vent in the wall relatively close I thought I would duct thing out trough using a flexible dryer tube.

I have no clue about the science behind this, so I wondered if anyone have experience with something similar ?
The idea of sucking out the VOCS while not lowering chamber temp drastically seems nice, but for all I know its just wishfull thinking.
Other suggestions are also appreciated, pictures even more.
(oh and I dont want a long debate about enclosed vs unenclosed external box and such, those have been done to death, this is just about extracting from the printer itself)
The linked model seems keyed for using a preexisting [laboratory] suction system, but attuning it down so that it doesn’t shop-vac 100x harder than you want to do.
If you have control over the airflow speed of any fan in the system [which you will?], that decoupled coupler might be overkill. You can just turn down the fan
(Maybe still needed if your fan can’t go that low.) You want that external fan to make very mild negative pressure inside the chamber so that air is only able to flow INTO the hotbox, [no stank air finding its way out the seams] but not too much so as to steal all the hot air and cool down the chamber.
Disclaimer: i havent done this ever, I end up just putting it in the garage, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

No, its for use with a “regular” inline fan, according to the designer on the page
My biggest thing is that if this actually works, why is this the only version I see of it, while there is a multitude of closed systems.
I am planning to duck around 4 meters ish, so there need to be some power moving the air.
