I’ve been trying to optimize my printer as much as possible to print benchy at High speeds. So far I’ve maxed out the printer due to the 30mm/sec limit employed by the software on the E movements under the printer settings > motion ability. I can program faster speeds on the filament profile, but it doesn’t change the print time as a result of this limit, and benchy is maxing out at 26min 30 seconds in PETG.
I know the printer has ludicrous mode which overrides these settings and boosts it 166%. I’m brand new to this printer (P1S Combo) and Bambu Studio, but know this thing can do a 20 minute benchy, which means it’s pushing well beyond the 30mm/sec extruder limit. Does anyone know how to override this limit so I can control the speed boost manually? Also, how do I activate Ludicrous mode from the app now that I have my 26min 30 second benchy dialed in?

I tried this to some degree when I got my new hotend.
Printing PLA at 500mm/s and the max flow rate test prints still printing fine just made me itch for more…
Turns out there is quite a few anchors that Bambu tied to things…
The max values are set by the firmware, so trying to override them through printer settings or G-code is possible on paper but won’t impress the printer.
Some values you can manually override but not the ones you are after - at least not to my knowledge.
If I really push it with PLA I can pump out a benchy in around 19 minutes with a slightly deformed chimney top…
Speed however isn’t all when it comes to printing…
There are not too many things simple enough so they can be printed at these insane speeds.
The moving mass of head and axis plus the 60W limitation for the heater are the real limits here.
What good is high speed if those moving masses cause ringing and overshoot effects?
If you want to break speed records start with linear motion drives
Last time I tried overriding things by brute force the printer still refused to go faster…
I did a 17 minute benchy in Ludicrous mode and the Chimney was excellent. Amazed at what this thing can do. Outside of Ludicrous it prints solid in 28 minutes.
