Does anyone have good settings for Overture Easy Nylon? They seem close to ABS but I was hoping there was a preset for it. Rather than waste a lot of time and filament getting the settings right I’m hoping one of you has solved this already.
I’m working on it now and I’ll share sometime soon. This material doesn’t heat quickly and doesn’t cool quickly either so it’s tricky. The main thing I’ve learned is to use lots of cooling and set a high minimum layer time in filament settings. It contradicts the recommendation from the overture website (which says no cooling fan), but if each layer cools sufficiently before the next layer is started then you’ll get more consistent dimensional results. Basically print small objects really slow and larger objects can be printed faster. I have the part cooling fan and chamber cooling fan both at 100% with the door open. Chamber cooling fan is set manually on the printer after the print starts (or use the app if you don’t want to sit and wait for the bed leveling and extrusion calibration).
Hi.
Just returned one spool to Amazon.
These material it’s is horrible, not easy, not nylon, it is more like a blend of
abs/pla.
I print nylon usually, obtaining awesome results with Taulman nylons, but the
overture EA it is imposible to obtain quality prints for me.
It’s brittle! I try to print it at 260 to 280ºc, fan 0 to 60, is the same, at the end
breaks easily.
First time I dry it 70º 24h, results are poor, I try additional 90ºC-8h in the oven, the results was similar
