Hey I found this forum thread because I was having similar issues! Turns out I didn’t make my gcode correctly and the filament was “Generic PETG” instead of “Bambu PETG” and it would fail to print repeatedly. I’m new to using the AMS so I’m still figuring out the slicing settings. I hope you solved your issue
I have a P1S with two regular AMS units a single AMS2 Pro and an AMS HT using the HUB and not the Buffer. They all feed into the P1S.
Is the AMS correctly identifying the BL filament alright. I have had all of my AMS’s do sort of what you describe when the RFID reader in the AMS was unable to detect the filaments RFID chip. It will also do the same sort of symptoms when trying to run non-BL filament spools. Is the filament BL filament or someone elses?
You want to have what I call long swooping runs of the PTFE tubing. You do not want to have the filament trying to make tight curves as it will rub or drag on the outer side of the ID of the tubing. The very front of the filament if it is cut at an angle can snag anywhere there is a tubing connection.
I buy BL filament because of having to manually edit the AMS slot for the filament and I have just had issues with using other brands of filament.
I built a filament rewinder and save RFID tags from BL filament to deal with configuring off-brand filament.
Just because it will allow you to set brand and color of other manufacturers in the AMS there may not be any underlying settings in the configuration for that brand/color
Thanks for all the advice! I bought a roll BL filament with the RFID tag just like BL CS suggested and that didn’t work. It still clears the buffer unit and gets about 1/2 up the exit tube to the head and retracts. My PTFE tubes are cut to the exact length proscribed in the manual. I could try some other lengths in bigger loops but how big is the question.
