In the 01.05.04.12 beta, the K-Factor is gone.
We all know, that in Bambu Studio (other than Orca), it was not possible to assign K-value to a filament preset but had to do it in the AMS slots. But now not even AMS (or external spool) can be manually set the K-factor.
I have dumped Bambu Studio for now and assign the values via Orca Slicers filament presets advanced settings.
No hint of K-factor settings in the firmware changelog. If I would work that way in my job, my boss would fire me…
You can now setup profiles for different Filaments in the calibration Menu. So you dont have to change the K-Factor manually when you change the Filiament.
Choose something, just for fun
PA Profile → Can’t be selected
Factor K → Stays greyed out
Im guessing you need to do the “manual calibration” process and enter in the result in the prompt at the end, like with the A series.
Your post was hidden earlier for some reason, and it’s visible now. This sounds like a great upgrade though! It is very annoying to need to go on the computer just to change the k factor
The forum software flagged it as spam and I had to manually review it.
Now with the new firmware and new Bambu Studio, the K-Factor settings are clearer.
Before: Klick AMS Slot, type in K-factor, done
Now: Make custom filament, make PA Profile, assign K-Factor to PA Profile, open AMS slot, choose custom filament, after that chose PA-profile with K-factor, Save
This is great! … with the correct alcohol level
Just did an update and ran into the same issue. I had to go through manual calibration to create a PA profile. Is there a more straightforward way to create or edit PA profiles? I don’t want to do calibration prints every time I enter a different K Value.
Why on earth is Bambulab hiding this features to the max?
Managing custom filaments has to be right above the AMS slots in the main software window!
Still nebularic: When you change a filament in the main page, does it automatically change the K in the printer settings page? I think: No
It is not good, when a “workflow” grows like a tumor and does not make sense.
Why not save the K WITH THE FILAMENT, like Orca?
What K value in the printer settings page?
In addition to what @Panamon_Creel explained with photos, the created profile must be assigned to each AMS slot or lateral filament coil, in the device tab.
To do this we have to click on the eye icon that is in each slot of the AMS or the coil and there select the calibration that we have saved in the calibration tab that @Panamon_Creel showed us.
I also do not understand how they have hidden it so much and not I know about you, but I lost all my settings when updating Bambu Studio.
Sorry. Orca filament settings save the K, not printer settings.
