You said you used a Filament Cleaner through the hot end and the extruder, but have you taken out the extruder to see if there’s any plastic powder on the gear? You might actually be under extruding. If there’s any powder on the extruder gear, it may have some trouble grabbing the filament on standard speed. The silent speed gives the extruder some actual time to bite into the filament so there’s no slipping.
When i initially had the globs and holes in my print like swiss cheese i cleared the clog but it still was messing up and not extruding right so i figured i would replace the nozzle. i completely replaced the gear with the hardened steel one last night since i had to remove the nozzle-i upgraded the nozzle as well to hardened steel so definitely nothing lefts in any of those spots and so if i am under extruding where could i change or compensate for that say in the slicer settings? Besides going to silent mode…LOL
Apologies I missed that you already did change the extruder gear.
You would have to do an Extrusion Calibration. Unfortunately there is no automated way to do this calibration on the P1 series. You will have to rely on the Bambu Wiki article found here: Extrusion Calibration in Bambu Studio | Bambu Lab Wiki
The default K value should be 0.020
mine did aswell if you dont want to try it dont im just telling you what fixed mine
okay so i did some more research-im not a member of reddit so somethings i cannot see in depth but i saw some post that said the hardened steel gear installation has known to degrade the quality of prints for some reason (maybe not catching the filament as well like you mentioned which causes under extrusion) AND i was also reading that in some cases increasing K value to .03 helped a lot as raising the temp of the material profile by 5 degrees. I was able to use GID to make a benchy in the upper corner of the print bed that was pretty decent after i did both the K value increase and the temp increase (plus i always choose a lower fan part percent as well) …maybe that crappy laydown is a know issue with the gear and/or the temp and just something to keep a personal material profile setting for the printer that has that installed versus my other P1P…bummer thing is i like the option of the complete nozzle assembly just being able to pop that in…i notice the store does not sell a standard stainless steel complete nozzle assembly-just the hardened steel one (augh)…i just popped in here to say thank you for walking through and readin all my responses and trying to help me out!
Thats very odd. Hmm. I only use the Hardened Steel extruder and print head as I use an X1C. I will say that i have a custom profile set for PLA which is a higher nozzle temp of 10C increase and a higher bed temp (for PEI) of 5C.
I can send a print profile through MakerWorld when i get home if you would like. Not sure how well itll be on a P1 but it shouldnt pose a problem.
sure- that would be great… yeah i have also noticed that i need to print at like 225-230, lower fan temp and no less than 65 degree bed temp
Apologies for the delay, you can find my upload here: Custom PLA and PETG Print Profile by xPengu - MakerWorld
thanks will try it out and again appreciate all your help!!!
