I have had my P1P since summer 23’ and it has been flawless. No real issues at all. I recently didn’t use it for like 6 days (which I have done many times before) and now it will not print anything. Nothing has changed as it was literally just sitting there. I’m even using the same half printed roll of filament from before when I was getting perfect prints. I have tried other filaments and they too are not working right. Basically it will heat up, print the test line just fine, then as soon as it starts printing on the bed the filament doesn’t stick and just gets pushed around until it forms a blob. Some of the filament inevitably goes into the silicon sock and I’m tired of cleaning the hotend. The bed is the textured PEI bed that came with the printer and I have cleaned it and flipped it to the other side. I have never had to use a glue stick with it so I really don’t think its a sudden bed adhesion issue. I’m using SUNLU PLA+ which I have used almost exclusively since I got the P1P.
I have tried flow calibration, factory reset, and cleaning the bed with both soap and water and with IPA with no success. It feels like its not self leveling correctly (ender 3 user here), but I have no idea how to fix that. I attached a first layer test print that makes it look like the bed is just not auto leveling correctly on the L side. Any ideas on what went wrong?
Interesting. I didn’t use the IPA after the soap and water, but I tried each individually between test prints to no avail. I guess cleaning it for the 10th time can’t hurt. Thanks for the reply.
In the midwest where its humid in the summers…back when I had perfect prints. Its super dry out right now and I keep my filaments in individual dry bags so that would be really surprising. Also the first layer print is great on the front R of the bed, just wont work well on the rest. I assume humidity would effect the whole print? Thanks.
My theory is that the 99% flashes off much faster than the lower percentage amounts and thus does a worse job of removing oils from the plate. It lifts and redeposits contaminants.
It’s a theory and I have nothing to back it up so take it as such.
So I washed it with soap and water…again… and reprinted the first layer test and it came out perfect. I did it the exact same way I have washed it every other time (even this morning) so I don’t know if you’re a wizard and cast a spell or something this time, but thank you. All seems good again.
