I had already started buying bits to upgrade mine for an enclosure, planning to print and buy polycarb panels to make it*… now they make a kit that looks great to convert it at a much lower cost than buying all the bits separately, but I’ve already bought items such and the cable chain, HD cable, chamber fan, control board fan that I will end up duplicating :-/
So do I:-
Try and return the bits that I’m duplicating? (I’ve only fitted the Control board Fan and Chamber fan)
Ask if they’ll do me a partial kit, or a discount on the kit?
Just suck it up, put it down to being impatient, and put the duplicates in my spares box!**
.* a week before the upgrade kit became available!
** I’m guessing probably this one!
I did the same thing. Thankfully i was able to return the bits i was missing before they were delivered and just bought the kit flat out. I still have the panels for the “vision” enclosure, and hopefully the corner prices will still work because i like the ability to remove the sides. My suggestion is to ask if they will discount the kit for you and return the individual units. If they say no, more spare parts is never a bad thing on stuff that wears out.
Im sort of in the same boat. I have upgraded everything, printed my own enclosure. Only thing I really want is the metal rear panel. I asked and got the 30% coupon for the kit. Really don’t want to buy the kit (the other panels may be useful) so waiting til now mid Sept to get the only part I need.
That being said I’m impatient too, and I’m considering just sitting on the extras. Really don’t think I’ll ever need extra glass though.
I had emailed CS. I pointed out that I had bought the P1P within a few days of the S launch.
That I had already purchased all the upgrades didn’t seem to register to them though.
Ok thanks. I’ve sent them a message through there support ticket system as I couldn’t find a direct email address for Customer Support. I’ll report back when (if?) I hear something
If I was you I would just keep the parts for spare should you need them later on. Less hassle at the end of the day and you may have to pay the additional shipping costs.
Depending on what you print, it may not be a bad idea to leave P1P partially enclosed. If 90% of the time you are printing PLA and PETG, the enclosure does you no good and is counter productive. It is nicer looking for sure.
Under the Install the upgrade kit section (middle of the guide) under the 1st bullet point it says “Click” to download the fan duct. Lowkey super easy to miss.
