P1P Top Layer Coming out Bad

I’m having issues with large top layers on my P1P. This thing is brand new and printing like this out of the box.

I’m using the standard preset and the preset for eSUN PLA+ filament.

Any ideas on how I can fix this or did I get a bad printer?

only on the top layer? no gaps on any of the walls?
If it’s only the top layer, you could try upping the ‘top surface flow ratio’ setting under quality.
Also, what temp and speed are you printing at? You might need to up the temp for better flow.

With speed of these printers wet filament can be a problem. Even for pla+. Right out the bag.

Fear not, it is just a filament calibration problem you need to dial in. Welcome to the forum.

It’s definitely the filament. My Sunlu looks similar, I use it for test prints. Haven’t used much else, but Bambu PLA never does this in my experience.

Thanks all for the help! My nozzle eventually kept clogging after these bad prints. I tried cleaning the nozzle, cold pulling, changed filaments etc., etc. I contacted support and they sent me a new hot end assembly and extruder and so far the issue is gone. The prints are coming out better than they ever did out of the box. I don’t know which part caused the issue since I replaced both at the same time but it seems it was either the hotend assembly or the extruder.
