I’ve seen some people post this as a similar problem with the H2D but I just wanted to make a post so the developers knew this was a bug on the P1S aswell.
When you use a 0.2mm nozzle the all filament swap purges are crazy long. It overflows onto the nozzle. Leading to me cancel as otherwise I’ll need to keep an eye on every swap. This really needs fixed soon as its putting me off using a 0.2mm nozzle.
I’m using the P1S on the latest firmware (01.08.01.00) with latest Bambu Studio.
I’m using Bambu branded PLA Basic filament. If there are any other details needed let me know and I can provide, if anyone has a temporary fix I am all ears as this is really annoying.
Thanks!
Edit: updated as I originally thought it was the first swap only but after more testing it appears to be every single swap is excessively long and I’m scared it will clog the poop chute.
Just to add a bit more, I timed the first purge. I’m making a bit of a rewrite as it’s not really the initial purge, but every purge for every filament swap. I timed it as taking around 4 minutes and 30 seconds. And I’ve attached two of the poop art pieces it created.
you can set your flushing volumes in the slicer (Orca Slicer). I think BambuStudio has flushing volumes as well. I stopped using that one tho. Bambu thinks we’re too dumb to learn the fun settings.
But remember its flushing volume, not time. a .6 is going to be a faster flush than a .4 and the same to .2 with the same volume of material.
edit: Looks like bambu slicer doesnt have that option. Try and weigh it, poo vs poo vs looking at how big it is.
I have found a flushing volume thing in Bambu Studio. But yes I did feel a bit stupid because it does make sense that if the nozzle is half the size, it’ll take twice as long to purge. But it really seems like the amount it purges is excessive. It could take 5 minutes to purge, and purge a whole heap ton. Especially for black to white etc. There is a multiplier for the purge volumes, so I’m currently using 0.5 for my 0.2mm nozzle prints. But could probably go lower.
Just wish Bambu would calculate the purge volumes differently for the 0.2mm nozzle, cause whatever formula they use to calculate it just really is not right and is way to extreme.
nope, it all works.
I believe its a fork of Bambu Studio. Has all the integration with MakerWorld and everything, except, instead of just clicking “open with Bambu Studio” you just have to open it in your downloads folder.
You have the option to NOT integrate with Bambu stuff, is why I initially switched. Now I cant go back.
If you decide to play with it, it wont break anything involved with Bambu Studios, you can swap back and forth as you wish.
Just make sure to get it from orcaslicer.com and not .net or any other site.
