Bought a P1S 3 months ago used it with AMS for about 300 hours for PLA and PETG supports.
I was planning to make a Customer support ticket but after switching the Nozzle with one on my P1P with after market Hardened Steel it prints fine now!
Printer started to Print in Air mid print after few hours with the stock Bambu Nozzle.
So I heated the nozzle to 300 degrees and manually pushed the filament and that cleared up the clog.
I thought it was either wet filament since the AMS says WET since humidity here is upto 85% but I’m printing PLA and my old P1P prints just fine.
I assumed it was either Extruder or the Humanity but out of curiosity switched the stock nozzle seemed to fixed it?!
It’s been 3 months so it’s a fairly new nozzle could it have gone bad that fast?
If the printer is printing in the air, the problem is not the nozzle. Although I assume that replacing the nozzle solved the problem, it was actually due to a different issue.
- By changing the nozzle, you’ve forced a recalibration.
- The previous nozzle was loose, not properly secured, the screws loose,…
- Or, as you describe it, a clog caused by, for example, wet filament.
Actually, though, these are all problems that have nothing to do with the nozzle. It’s possible that you really did get a bad lemon - you can’t rule that out 100%. But I’d at least check to see if there might be other causes after all.
Either way, you shouldn’t ignore the warning from the AMS. At 85% it’s way beyond any normal range, so it’s a miracle that your filament is still printing at all.
Just because you can somehow still prints on your old device doesn’t mean it makes sense. Would you fill up your sports car with old, greasy, dirty cooking oil? Just because you can put old oil in a tractor doesn’t mean you should put it in a sports car.
Presumably, if you dry your filament, tighten the screws, reinstall the old nozzle, and recalibrate it - or perform a factory reset if necessary - the problem with the old nozzle should be resolved.
Why not examine the nozzle? The zoom on a phone camera comes in useful sometimes. A midprice phone like a OnePlus will do a fine job.
