Printing a model I’ve printed a number of times before perfectly well on my P1S, 0.4mm stainless steel nozzle, fairly new roll of PETG (purple) which I had in my filament drier over night for 6 hours to solve some blobbing I was seeing. Using default 0.2mm P1S Standard profile.
After the first mess I printed the flow rate calibration and the values closest to 0 looked reasonable, while the -15 and -20 was a bit of a mess, but none of the pieces had the nice smooth surface in the middle example on the calibration page.
P1S; Bambu replacement .4mm stainless nozzle, ams, had printer for 6mo, 320 hours, did monthly maintenance pass couple weeks ago, fine prints since, belts seem fine, this filament printed fairly well a couple days ago, using default settings, latest Bambu Studio update this morning - but after the first bad print anyway.
I’m using the base profiles; first thing I do on encountering anomalies with the Bambu printer is repeating with clean defaults.
Did a fresh maintenance sweep, nothing seemed out of sorts, but then I have no clue what I’m looking for with belt tension, heh. I printed all the Orca tests; the temperature test was ok between 257-248, getting a little stringy under 250, then getting a bit blobby around 240, and making a cratered mess at the top of 230.
I did the bambu and orca flow tests, but none of the tiles had a perfectly, silky smooth top, all of 'em had a a rim of bumps around the outer edge that was never un-rough to the touch, and the best ones always showed … well, like diagonal layer lines on the top, even the smoothest. Maybe just an artefact of the BL Purple PETG I’m using.
I’m gonna dust-off a mac mini that has BL installed on it and do a side-by-side print of two versions and see if it’s an issue with the latest version.
I did a hot and cold pull, both came out clean, so I switched to a spare hotend with a brand new .4mm s/steel nozzle, and just like the previous nozzle, both BL PLA/PETG get little nozzle boogers - you know a tiny blob of ooze that I’m fairly sure is messing with the bed levelling a bit.
BL shows green humidity, 4 bars (new dessicant last week, have a dehumidifier running in the room too)
