After a while, all firmware updates stops… I mean, there are still updates but not for the older models even though there are many subjects that could use attention. P1S start g-code is a painful thing to watch.. almost 10 minutes with probing the bed and vibration tests..
Is there any work going on regarding older printer firmware or am I stuck with this ??
X1C is already EOL. If not for direct compete with other brands in “cheap” segment, I think P1S would be EOL as well. You know, X1C and P1S share almost everything (belts, carbon rods, pulleys…) except for electronics and aluminium side panels.
I don’t think they would spend man power on P1S anymore.
The P1S is still supported. The P1P and the X1C have reached EOL.
The P1S is still a popular printer for print farms. Bambu has stated it’s still selling well and will be supported.
It’s concerning, but it’s the way. One of the reasons I paid more for a Prusa machine is their track-record of long-term support.
Relax, Bambu bros. I’ve also bought 2 Bambu printers this year.
I just find it funny that support would be the main reason to cite.
I like my C1, its a good printer and decently reliable, but having good support is not the reason I have it. It was nice to have good support when I did my mk4 to C1 conversion, but outside of that I have never had to contact support. Both the Prusa and Bambu wikis are very detailed. I do not see support as that important when I can figure something out and fix it myself.
In all fairness, that mindset is coming from the days where support was reading through forums and sending messages to creality never to be answered.

Even in terms of product support, I think 8 years is satisfactory.
For cars, the product support is usually only 6 to 12 years depending on the brand. (Outside of recalls)
This is something you can change. There are lots of “optimized start” gcode that users have shared.
I do not think you know what you’re saying. I have 2, neither take that long to start.
Try comparing it with the A1 mini… It takes ages!

Mine was usually around 6 minutes prep time.
My mini doesn’t either.

I Agree on the 6 minutes “dance“ for each print. Once at the start of each session should suffice.
