P1S FW 01.08.00.00 does not always load filament from AMS bug

I updated to the new 01.08.00.00 firmware and sometimes the printer will not load any filaments from the AMS and end up extruding nothing when starting a print.

I’ve loaded all the slots in the AMS and the AMS itself says that no filament is active because there are no flashing lights, only solid white lights. I think the new FW has bug that sometimes skips the AMS loading portion of the gcode and just starts printing as if you didn’t have the AMS connected. This happens with both single color prints with the tool set to T0 and multicolor prints using T0-T3.

I haven’t spent too much time trying to figure out the exact conditions this happens under but the firmware forgetting to load from AMS seems to occur when there is no active filament slot in the AMS at the start of the print. I’ve had this issue happen with the new firmware printing from the slicer and SD card. The gcode of the files are the same and I’m not changing the default AMS mapping either.

What’s worse is that the P1S screen does not allow you to load from a selected AMS slot so my workaround to initially make a slot “active” in the AMS is to use the slicer Devices > AMS > select filament slot > Load function to get the printer to pull the filament before starting a print. This means no slicer = no printing if your previous print ended with the AMS retracting the filament.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Same issue here on my P1P…alot of nags about updating and was stupid enough to think…welll what can go wrong and now i have a non working unit

"failure to get AMS mapping table, please select “resume” to retry [07FF-8012 195208] error code

P1S FW 01.08.00.00 - the same issue. The print is waiting to hotbed heating even if temp is OK. When before print I load filament manualy (click load in Bambu Studio) from AMS then printing is OK.

P1S FW 01.08.00.00 - no issue so far. Printed about 20 multicolor items this week.

After some more printing, it seems like the P1S will skip the initial toolchange entirely but it will think that it switched to and loaded the filament. This happens on both cloud and LAN mode.

If no filament is loaded at the start, the printer will just print without extruding any plastic.

If the wrong filament slot is loaded at the start, the printer will start the print with the wrong filament slot that was already loaded.

If the correct filament slot is loaded at the start, the printer will print with the correct slot.

I dont have an ams but im also experiencing filament loading issues ever since the new update. Itll false flag a filament jam even though theres nothing wrong. Then the extruder will just perpetually go in reverse until you remove the filament manually. Once you load it again itll finally decide to extrude properly. This is becoming very annoying when im changing filaments out. (Error HMS_0700-2000-0002-0004)

I had the same error happen, it ended up clogging the extruder and I had to replace the hotend to fix it :frowning:
