Hello all sorry if this was already asked I’m sure it was but I cannot find it in the forms what is the open hole on top of the P1S does anyone know is it for future an accessory? Thanks in advance
I just guessed that is was cheaper to use the X1’s mold as a base mold and the Wake button’s hole is just added to the P1P and P1S.
I was thinking that as well but the X1 has a round hole. The hole in the top of P1S is moreof a slotted hole. Just odd but im sure theres a reason. Thanks for the reply though.
Ok, just saw a good picture of the wake and e-stop button, and yeah, definitely not closely related to the pill shaped P1P/S button hole.
There is a powered USB port on the AP board (behind the display) that is pointed towards this hole and is often used to power community phone/p1touch add-ons.
Hey JonRaymond the powered usb port on AP board that you refer to in your reply is that on the right if your standing in front of machine?
Im really surprised BBL would change the mold for P1S to support the modding community. Regardless thanks for your help in solving this mistery.
As you know, the P1S is based on the P1P. And the P1P is / was advertised as “printer for the modding community”.
I’m new to the 3D printing space and definitely the modding space so I’m learning as I go I appreciate the help though.
Here is the Response from Bambu Labs on this:
The USB hole on the AP board has 5V output, so the hole is for modification for some users to set cables.
However, the modification is risky, we don’t recommend users to do it.
JonRaymond nailed it Thanks all
