P1S Incorrect Print times LW-PLA

I’m printing a file in Bambu Studio. Some key points:

  • The file i’m printing is to be printed in Vase Mode
  • I’m printing using LW-PLA (ColorFabb)

When I slide the file Bambu Studio estimates a print time of 5h4m.
However when I actually print the file on my P1S it is taking over 14 hours (and that is in Sport mode).
I have noticed this across multiple LW-PLA prints some with Vase mode on (such as this one) & others without Vase mode off(Eclipson Go Wulf files for example).
When I change the Filament from my ColorFabb profile to a Bambu Labs Matte PLA the issue is still there so I don’t think its is related to the filament settings I have for the ColorFabb which I will attach anyway.

I would appreciate any help with this as i suspect the actual speed the printer is printing at is not 50 mm/s. Prusa estimates it would take about 9hrs at 50 mm/s which I think is closer to the truth.

What size nozzle/hotend are you using?

I’m using the stock P1S 0.4mm nozzle & hotend

try changing the max volumetric speed value. Do the orca slicer test print to get a more correct value.

I agree. The volumetric speed of the OP’s filament profile is quite low at 512 mm^3/s. I am unfamiliar with the flow characteristics of LW-PLA but normal PLA prints just fine at 12 mm^3/s, so I suspect the slicer is slowing the printing down to to not exceed the flow limits.
It doesn’t explain why it’s calculating the print time incorrectly though.

I have tried playing with changes to the MVS value by changing it to 12 & reslicing but it had no significant impact on the estimated print time. I would have expected changing the filament used to a standard bambu pla preset would have done the same thing also.
I actually don’t want to exceed 50 mm/s with this filament but the estimated print time is off by orders of magnitude & I can’t figure out why!

Your minimum Layer time is very high and especially in vase mode this can greatly increase the overall print time.

However it doesn’t explain why it calculates a significantly lower time

My understanding of the docs on this value is more to do with fan speed based on layer time and does not actual affect the time spent printing a layer in anyway. Am I understanding this correctly?
When I play with it it doesn’t impact the estimated print time

It does change time spent printing a layer when the limit is not flow or speed but the min layer time. Check what changes it does on a thin cross-sectioned print, like a miniature flag pole or some small skyscrapers

nope this value sets the minimum layer time and if the layer time would fall below that value then it would slow down the print speed to meet that minimum layer time.
Just hover over that min Layer time box to get an explanation:
