im doing some prints i have noticed that the poop and nozzle cleaner isn’t consistently dislodging the waste and some times either lingers or gets stuck
are there any recommendations / modifications to make sure waste reliably leaves the printer

This helps a lot to ensure the purge goes down.
This helps clean the nozzle better than the original one (uses A1 wiper pieces)

They’re available in the store under A1 spares. They come in a 3 pack, and you only use half of one so will last forever. The first lever piece probably did more for ensuring the waste is released than other solutions I tried. Don’t bother with purge covers IMO.
I’m having the same problem. Every time when the print starts there is purging. Some filament curls upward and sticks onto the nozzle. The original wiper just moves the filament around and cuts off most of the purging. Then the nozzle moves to the back of the plate and wipes, which only flattens out the filament sticking down. The printed wiping strip does help a little bit by sticking some filament off but there is still a lot left on the nozzle. What I do is add a brim so there is more time for the plastic to get dragged off. However there are still chances that the blob comes off at the first layer and messes the print up.
