P1S Print head in wrong place

Hi everybody,
I wanted to print the same object as yesterday a second time, will say, all the settings were approved. Now my P1S moves the head to the wrong position. I have already done a factory reset. After that the print head was in the correct position. But when I started the print, it moved forward, crashed against the front side and moved back again to the wrong position, approx. 5cm to far left and 2 cm to far in direction to the front.
P1S is in original state, no modifications except a second LED strip for better light.
Thanks in advance for an idea to solve.

You did not update the firmware in the meantime, did you ?

I did, some days before, but the printer worked a few days normally.

You have not installed one of those makerworkd motor dust covers by any chance ?

Welcome to the forum.

Make sure that you can manually move the head to the front right corner. If for example the PTFE tube is too short it will not allow the head to home correctly and will offset where the head purges.

No modificatons at all. No additional parts.

Do you think, the new firmware could cause the problem?

I didn’t change anything (but the firmware) during the last few weeks.

Have you tried a factory reset yet? Often that will fix the weird problems.

I would still suggest you manually move the head to the front right corner to see if anything is blocking it.

I gave up on thinking with Bambu
All I know is that (so far) there were always people with issues after updating the firmware.
Be it that their old 3MF refuse to produce the expected result, the printer or communication misbehaving or just things that worked fine before suddenly causing headaches.
If you ask me than Bambu is rushing things far too much - quantity over quality is not the way to go if you want satisfied customers.

I am still happy using the the firmware from before the Auth ‘update’ together with the matching Studio version.
I know what to expect, I know the flaws and downsides and I get the prints coming out fine as planned.
While I understand the need to have the latest and best - in the Bambu world the latest only too often is fundamentally flawed - just MY opinion on the matter…
