P1S randomly powers off during prints on latest firmware

Hello,

I have a BambuLab P1S and recently I started having an issue: the printer randomly powers off completely during prints. Sometimes it happens after only 5 minutes, other times after 5 hours. It’s very inconsistent.

I am currently running the latest firmware on both the printer and the AMS.

Has anyone else experienced similar random shutdowns with the newest firmware?
Could this be a firmware bug, or should I suspect a hardware issue (mainboard, PSU, toolhead board)?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I had something similar happen but it was on a previous firmware. With mine it was the wires connected to the power inlet. One of the connectors had worked it way loose enough that it was making sporadic contact. If you unplug it and take the back off you can see/feel if the connectors are still fully on. Here’s the official info on the the inlet:

Because P1S, do you have any accessories plugged into the machine, at all, aside from the AMS unit? There are power-related hazards if you try to tap too deeply into the power supplied by the P1S’ DC converter. [Lights, cameras, speakers, anything in USB, etc]

I have only the LED light update, nothing else.

I’ve already ordered a new power switch. I’ll replace it and see if that fixes the issue. However, when I move the current switch, I can hear a slight sparking sound from it.

Thanks for the advice!

Now you’ve done it. The BIQU engineers are huddled around a drafting table working on the “Panda Roar”

Hopefully, you are not tapping on the 5V rail of AP board for that

They actually released something like this. It’s called the panda alarm I think.

Oh my god, you’re right. According to the sidebar on this page they now have 43 Panda products. The Panda Diaper??

I never realized how many there were. But a lot of those are either unreleased or scrapped. It’s funny because on Reddit they were hyping up their new panda verse line of like 12 new products and the names of all of them were in the wiki
