P1S refuses to recognize network password

When asking for help, please provide as much information as possible about your inquiry.
This will help everyone to better understand your problem, and provide you with the best solution.

  • Detailed description of the problem
  • Printer model used
  • Slicer settings used
  • Type of filament used
  • Photos that clearly show the problem
  • .3mf file (if the file can be shared)
  • Any potentially useful information that is related to the problem

My two year old P1S has decided to stop connecting to my network. I have tried to reconnect, but every time I get to the point where I enter my network password, the process quits and reports an “invalid password”. This is the same 2.4Ghz network that is has happily operated on in the past. Just up and quit one day last week and refuses to play anymore.

I’ve also tried to print from the SD card and this process quits after I select the file from the display. I can’t say this is new behavior since I never use the SD card, but the printer is now effectively a large paperweight.

I’m thinking about replacing the antenna and if that fails to right the ship, try my hand at opening a support ticket. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Sounds like corrupted settings or firmware.

I’d suggest starting with a factory reset, if that doesn’t help then re-flash the firmware.

The P1S uses the SD card to store all print that you send it. It doesn’t have internal storage like some of the other Bambu models. This means that the card will eventually fail and as it starts to fail often you see weird issues like you are seeing.

I would first format the card via the printer display. A full card can cause issues as well. If this does not solve the issue I would replace the card with a good quality “endurance” card.

Thanks for the replies. I believe I’ll format the card and check if that solves the issue. If not, I’ll reset the machine and finally reflash firmware. If still no joy, try the antenna, then contact the gracious support department.

Thought I would post an update on the problem:

Format card - Format was successful, but no network connection.

Replace card - Installed a Sandisk Ultra 64GB. Format in the printer was successful, but no network connection.

Factory reset - Replaced Sandisk card with original, then ran a factory reset from the control screen. Network connection was successful. Hooray!

Thanks for the suggestions. Here’s hoping the fix sticks.
