My P1S printers work great—until the print goes over 5 hours. Then they just stop randomly and drop the bed, usually around 80% done. It’s happened 4 times now. I’ve tried swapping SD cards, restarting the printers, updating firmware—nothing helps. It’s super frustrating because it’s a total waste of time and filament. The part is unsalvageable once the bed drops, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it when it happens. My life-size prints are completely on hold. Anyone else run into this and actually found a fix?
Have you tried a factory reset?
Have you checked whether in the slicer you have it to pause at a certain point? happened to me once, i set it in slicer to pause print and insert magnets and forgot to turn it off.
Yes i have checked for pauses on print and we are good there no the issue, am currently trying an older firmware and see what happens if not i will be resetting to factory settings as someone mentioned. Thanks for the input made me double check to make sure ![]()
Currently trying and older firmware update if not i will do as you recommended and give it a go if not ill have if i can figure it out thanks
- UPDATE*
Spent some time digging into my printers after a string of frustrating fails big prints kept dying right around the 4-hour mark, even when they were nearly done. Swapped SD cards, did general maintenance, updated firmware, full reset… still no luck. Just a ton of lost time and failed prints.
After a bunch of trial and error, I think I’m finally seeing progress. The last few parts made it past 6 hours with no issues. Currently testing an 11-hour print to see if it holds up ![]()
What fixed it? Honestly, not 100% sure yet. My guess is heat creep might’ve been part of the problem. I improved airflow and ventilation, used a better SD card, did a deep clean, and unplugged everything for a couple hours before the reset and firmware update.
