P1S Stuck in Loop After Purging. Slamming into sides Before Repeating

Hello, I am having an issue that started happening at the end of a successful print. Upon successful completion; the printer seemed to slam into its home position pretty aggressively. From that point on the printer has been stuck in this loop where it goes from the Purging process, then slams into the front glass, then slamming back into the purging area, but slightly off and seemingly slamming into all the sides. Then Purging AGAIN, and before slamming back into the front again in a constant loop. It Deff sounds like its doing damage to itself.

I tried updating the firmare on the machine and the software on bambu studio to no avail. This happens when I send to print from Mobile or from my computer. Calibrations did not help either.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Detailed description of the problem
  • Printer model used
  • Slicer settings used
  • Type of filament used
  • Photos that clearly show the problem
  • .3mf file (if the file can be shared)
  • Any potentially useful information that is related to the problem

Dont have much time to talk but i had a similar issue once when attempting to print a large model. I sized it down and whole thing stopped

I am currently having this same issue. It only happens when I print from orca slicer.

If I send the print but not start it, then go to my printer and manually start the print it will work fine. But sending from the slicer exhibits these purging/slamming the head loops.

I’m in lan mode w the 1.7 firmware.

Been searching for this issue and found this thread.

My P1S just started doing this, purging and then doing the usual moving then slamming to the back. Wondering if anyone found a solution before I reach out to support?

Do you have a Panda Lux installed? They can cause that.

Thanks for your response. No Panda Lux everything stock standard!

If you haven’t yet, maybe do a factory reset.
Dig around in the wiki. It has lots of good information. Often hardest part is knowing what term to use.
Always the option to put in a support ticket.
What error code or codes are you getting?

Can confirm also done factory reset, no change, which is strange!

I’m actually not getting any errors at all, which again, is strange.

I’ve put in a support ticket for now as i’m stumped!

Please share your findings as this is still happening to me. Thanks for responding.

It was a Fried AP Board. After replacing it, that resolved my issue. I had a USB light, and bambu touch attached to it. I dont know if that was what fried it but I reattached everything and everything is fine now.

It was Fixed after they sent me a new AP Board. That resolved the issue, I wish I had done that first since they are rather inexpensive.

The factory reset did nothing. As well as updating all my firmares and bambu labs in desperation which I now regret doing.

So you are back up and running?
Did you reconnect the Touch?

I just installed USB lights and this problem started. I guess I need to file a ticket. Thanks

Remove the lights and hope you did not fry a board?

Connecting BIQU electronics to the BL electronics is a recipe for trouble.
Ditch the lights, ditch the touch.
Get a tablet, install Bambu Handy on the tablet and mount the tablet at the printer.

By going the tablet route you stay inside the BL ecosystem as BL is going to manage the firmware for the printer AND any software UI changes to Handy.

Bambu responded to my ticket and advised according to error logs my printer was flagging the front cover being de-attached.

Being sent a new front housing assembly to see if this fixes the issue. It’s odd because i’ve never received any front housing de-attached errors on the machine!

Hello guys ! Got the same problem as y’all …

I also tried to factory my printer no difference at all. When I print old projects, i don’t have this issue. But with the new ones it’s always the case.

I don’t really know when it happened, but I remember that i got the same error as Phteven, it told me that the front cover was off (even if it was on)…

I am gonna take a look at that.

Does seem like a rare but also somewhat circulating issue with a few people, but I haven’t seen any consistent solutions. Someone said disconnecting their AMS and printing normally, then switching back fixes it, but didn’t for me. It’s very odd and I haven’t pinpointed what my cause is yet!

This starting happening to me last night after a successful print. Have calibrated several times, checked for obstrucions, etc. Also gives a loud clunk when moving forward from its purge position. Have taken the AMS off and calibrating again, and will try a print from external
