P1S trouble printing gear model

Hi,

I try to print the following model of af bevel gear:

While the bottom part prints fine, I have trouble when it comes to the “pins” on the surface.
At some point the printer stops extruding filament, and makes some thin strings instead:

It looks like the nozzle clogs, but if I restart the print, everything works from the beginning of the next print.

I have no problems with other models, only this one.

The model has a lot of places that needs very small amount filament, so I think it is doing a lot of retraction in the layers where this happens. Like in this layer, where there a lot of very small blobs below the first 3 lines from the top:

I guess that large amount of retractions in short time in some way stops the flow of filament.

I tried various layer heights, with or without arachne (with eliminates a lot of “gap” infill), different filament, different temperatures. I did calibration of temperature, k factor, flow ratio and flow volume. Everything is more os less spot on on the default settings for generic PLA.

Any ideas as to what to try next?

Ok, tried printing with the included Bambu Lab PLA Basic filament, and the model came out great without any major issues:

Can the problem with my old filament be moisture?
Do you think it will help drying my filament?

I would do the following:

  1. dry the filament (even if it’s pla)
  2. create a tuned profile with orcaslicer by running through the main calibrations.

Yes, moisture is critical.

Tried drying the filament for 6 hours at 45 deg C.
It did af few more layers before clogging, but the print still fails.

I a wrote initially, I did a full calibration in orca, so I think the profile is ok. Also I have no problem printing other parts. Only this one keeps failing.

Will try some other new out of the box non Bambu Lab filament. Hopefully that will work.

With a new spool of filament it came out perfectly. So apparently the first two spools I tried have some problems. But I’m happy that it finally worked.
