P1S under or over extrusion

Printer is on firmware 1.07, I am updating to the latest right now, but really didn’t want to…

A few weeks ago this printer started either under extruding or over extruding. I can’t tell which and I have made corrections for both with it only getting worse. I will fully admit that I am normally a print by the defaults sort of users, that is why I like Bambu, it generally works. I do make some changes, but flow and pressure advance I normally leave to the machine.

So, that said, I have tried to manually calibrate, even used a magnifying glass while doing it to make sure I was picking the “best” even though there really weren’t great choices (well, imho there weren’t). But it really only gets worse. I will say that increasing the K value makes it way worse, but that test said it should be higher so I went with it. That was awful… Anyway, I am going to post a picture, but I am not sure if it is under or over extruding. I would guess it is under extruding, but like I said, I have gone both ways without good results.

Other things I have tried, ran a full calibration on the printer. did a cold pull on the nozzle, pulled the nozzle out and renewed the thermal compound. It has a newish extruder gear so I haven’t checked that and I haven’t replaced the nozzle. Not sure if I have one for the P1S, got plenty of the X1C.

Anyway, I am attaching a pic.

When I perform filament calibration on my P1S, I have it go in 0.001 steps instead of the default settings for K value.

Upgrading the firmware did nothing…

I looked through my extra parts and found a new hot end for the P1S. I switched it out and got a better print. Testing another print right now to see if that was a fluke.
