P2S and clumping

Does anyone elses P2S clump when it’s purging? This flipper thing, no idea the actual name, it has some give in it like it should come out more. I think this is whats causing it clump. It got so extreme the other day that a clump must have stuck to the nozzle and it carried on trying to print. I had to use a hairdryer and pliers to get off what I can only describe as the elephant mans nose. It didn’t used to do this. I’ve raised a ticket with support to see if my printer is working correctly.

I did run the clumping nozzle test thing and ended up using the +3.0mm alignment.

Is the nozzle aligned with the U-shaped top of the cleaning part? Sometimes it needs to be calibrated.

Yes, I ran the calibration because it was off by 3mm. I had hoped it would solve the problem.

Im not 100% happy with the P2S because of this and the endless squeaking, despite me greasing it all up as per the BBL youtube video on how to stop the squeaking.

I am experiencing a similar issue but the flushed filament gets stuck under the purge blade and builds up flushed filament until the nozzle gets blocked - is your issue similar?

Yes it was the same. I got the solution from Bambu support. The blade needs adjusting.

I cant upload the actual photos as they’re inline inside the email and it won’t let me save them. I’ve attached a screenshot. It resolved the problem. I did lose a screw in the process so use a magnetic tool not the keys that came with it.

The P2S has massive clumping issues with PETG, not sure what filament you are printing with?

I only use PETG and PLA. I had clumping for both. This adjustment sorted it out.

What adjustment?

I don’t use PLA, but PETG has had a lot of issues, firstly the fact Bambu have crippled the P2S with a bad update, its also worth noting several P1 users have had similar experience, bambu completely wrecked printing with a recent forced update.

In my post with the screen shot and the one earlier with the note about the purge wiper calibration, this is the purge wiper. I identified my clumping was happening here. When the nozzle was flushing at the start of a print or purging between colour swaps, it would clump and drag it along or knock it back onto the print surface.

My purge wiper, when you push the activation arm, it was not extending full and was part sitting under the tool head.

I went through the bambu wiki for realigning the tool head to the purge wiper.

Then BBL support sent me the screenshot I’ve posted earlier. From this I adjusted the position of the wiper to sit further forward when the lever was engaged. It now sits flush with the plastic housing just below it.

This solved my clumping issue. I don’t know if it will yours. You need to determine at what point it clumps. Is it when it flushes/purges or is it just randomly during a print?

No update has caused any issue with my clumping, it was all mechanical. My printer is working fine now albeit I need to adjust some tension on my Y axis after lubricating it to remove some squeaking.
