I’m using my P2S as LAN mode only because I dislike cloud dependence greatly. While BBL could still have made firmware update work online, they didn’t. OK whatever, I’ll use sneaker networking.
But: Am I to be punished by not getting the latest firmware at all? The only download link I can find for a P2S firmware is old 01.01.01 from last year, here.
Please tell me it ain’t so, because it would reek of forcing cloud upon us..
Edit: I turned off “lan only” to see if I could update online without an account. No, it won’t, it requires you to use handy and log in to their cloud.
Imma leave this here for you so you can check the newest version for yourself since the newest version did add quite a few things (plus there is another update before that which is just some bug fixes though)
Excuse me i must have read your inital Question wrong
i did more looking into it and sadly if you want the newest Update without an account you only have the offline Updating option
you need an account to get the newest version
Check with P1x and it’s firmware release history. There’s a gap of 2 to 3 weeks between the dates. BBL says that’s the usual gap. So hopefully in a few days the new P2S firmware will surface on the site. I’m waiting too.
Thank you for the positivity. The P2S downloadable FW haven’t been updated since December 25, so 4 months ago, while there have been intermediate versions for online updates..
I wish you are right though, still a chance.
In the meantime what I did was installing handy, turning off lan only, logging in, binding printer, updating, logging out, deleting printer in handy, setting lan only, deleting handy. Quite annoying though, and the point is clearly to gamble on people keeping handy, foot in the door etc..
Keep on screaming please! Last time someone did something similar (kept on screaming) on H2D firmware, it only took a week to make it available.
@SupportAssistant can you please instruct your team to upload firmwares as soon as they are made available from the cloud. It shouldn’t be a big deal and you will end up with a lot of happy customers
There is a separate process for making the offline firmware installer available, which takes a bit longer. The team is working on making the latest version available ASAP. It shouldn’t be long.
Please improve that process as you certainly noticed, people are complaining a lot about it and losing confidence bambu really does not want user to use LAN Only mode and only use the cloud. I know it’s certainly not the case but it leaves a bad taste anytime a new firmware is available and LAN-Only mode users wait weeks to be able to upgrade. Everyone has to gain streamlining that process. Thanks
Does it take 2+ months to make a firmware version downloadable from the support site? Version 01.01.03.00 released in February isn’t available to be downloaded either.
