P2S Firmware V01.01.50.40 Now in Public Beta!

New P2S Firmware Available for Public Beta Testing!

We’re excited to announce that firmware V01.01.50.40 for the P2S is now available through our Public Beta Program.

How to Join the Beta
To access the beta firmware, simply join the Beta Firmware Program via the Bambu Handy app under Me → Beta Firmware Program.

Once enrolled, the update will be pushed to your device gradually.

:arrows_counterclockwise: Want to Switch Back?
You can leave the Beta Program at any time by disabling the option in the app and installing the latest official firmware version.

New Features:

  1. Added support for “Print While Drying” feature.
Note: Please be aware of power limits. The drying temperature must not exceed the filament’s softening temperature.

  2. Added support for remote activation of filament drying.

  3. Added support for saving timelapse videos locally (no USB flash drive required).
Also supports exporting internal time-lapse files and deleting internal/external time-lapse files.

  4. Added support for Curve Planning Enhancement.
Improves how the printer processes curved paths which results in better surface quality in certain scenarios, especially on rounded features.

  5. AI failure detection pop-ups now display live camera snapshots.
Live feed pop-ups are now supported for Camera Obstruction, Foreign Object, Spaghetti, and Nozzle Clumping Detection.

  6. Optimized user onboarding experience.
A new orientation process has been added to help new users quickly get started and complete their first print. The orientation can be revisited later via “Toolbox - Beginner Guide.”

  7. Detailed explanations added to error code pop-ups.
Integrated with HMS to display possible error causes.

  8. Added a “Stopping” status when initializing print cancellation.
During this state, the printer will block manual inputs until the stopping sequence is complete. This prevents control command sequencing errors caused by injecting new operations while the printer is already in the halting process.

  9. Added a manual filament change widget for multi-color printing via external spool.
Added a dedicated UI tool to streamline the multi-color printing process when using an external spool. This tool assists with manual filament changes, ensuring smoother color transitions without an AMS.

  10. Added Low-Power Mode for the heatbed.
Designed for users with limited power supply environments. It lowers the maximum peak power by extending the heatbed’s heating time.

  11. Added support for “Disable Motor” mode for XYZ axes to facilitate maintenance and repairs

  12. Added Foreign Object Detection beneath the heatbed.
The printer now performs a pre-print check to detect any obstructions under the heatbed reducing the risk of collisions or mechanical strain.

  13. Added support for Build Plate Presence Detection.
Intelligently detects and prompts the user if they forget to place the build plate, preventing other abnormal print failures.

  14. Added support for First Layer Quality Calibration.
Supports fine-tuning the distance between the nozzle and the heatbed during first layer printing, thereby improving first layer adhesion and surface smoothness.

  15. Newly added information about regulation certifications.

  16. Added support for third-party VentoBox air filtration unit.
VentoBox Project Disclaimer VentoBox is a collaborative initiative between Bambu Lab and independent creators. Please be advised that this project is classified as an unofficial third-party modification. Consequently, technical support and installation inquiries related to VentoBox fall outside the scope of Bambu Lab’s official customer service. As this is an experimental pilot program, we have not yet established a formalized partnership framework and are not actively accepting applications for other creator project integrations at this time.

Feature Optimizations:

  1. Optimized extrusion strategy to prevent extruder overload in certain scenarios.
  2. Optimized nozzle clog detection.
Reduced the false alarm rate in specific printing scenarios.
  3. Added a manual toggle for Foreign Object Detection:
Users can now enable or disable this feature as needed via a toggle switch.
  4. Improved overall stability.
Optimized system, network, and connectivity stability, and fixed several rare bugs.

How come i joined and my printer didn’t update?

Thank you for print while drying/remote drying, thank you for low power mode, thank you for first layer z-height adjustment, thank you for the manual filament change widget!

Most of all thank you for your receptiveness to outside ideas and for listening to the community. Not many companies work this hard to keep their users happy.

Really great work! Thank You!

It has been a joy and wonderful experience with Bambulab since I got my first 3D printer, the P2S, last month. These firmware updates is a manifestation that the team behind this company has been proactive in the community. Thanks so much for your effort and will surely get more printers soon for my 3D printing business!

Can we please get the chamber light switch on the main page?

And please give us the option to fully disable the pop up asking if we are sure about turning off the light as it might affect AI detections (Even though all detections are turned off!)

What will the watts maximum be with this setting enabled?

Hi everyone. Bambulab lists version 01.02….. but my P2S update has a different number. It contains all the changes described above. I am attaching a photo.

That would actually make sense because that number lines up with the number from the Bambu Studio P2S configuration package update change log.

I found the description from the changelog in my Bambu Studio files (as I just did it today):

“The updates for this preset package are as follows:

1. Fix the issue where the default value of the travel_short_distance_acceleration,slow_down_min_speed parameter is incorrect in the process presets for certain printer models.

2. Updates the Machine Start G-code, Machine End G-code, and Filament Change G-code for P2S(Beta Firmware Version 01.01.50.40), with the following enhancements:

1)New support for foreign object detection beneath the heated bed before printing.

2)New support for build plate detection, in cases where users forget to place the printing plate, intelligent detection and prompt measures are taken to prevent any other abnormalities from occurring.

3. Update the parameters for Bambu PETG Basic to ensure compatibility with the all-new Bambu Lab PETG Basic”.

I noticed another user commented on not receiving the update for a few days, I’m wondering what shortly means as I too have joined the beta to utilise some of these features and I have a print that I want to do asap

Will First Layer Quality Calibration be updated for the H2 series?

How long does it typically take from the time a beta version is released until a stable release in BambuLand? I generally prefer to wait, but this has some tempting features!

Hi Bamulab,

I am a member of the beta team, The new features of the firmware are awesome, love the support put into it. What is the time frame for getting the new beta firmware pushed to my P2S? it says gradually but how long is “gradually” ? Is there a download link to install it via usb?

That’s Chinese firmware version
