P2S New Bambu P2S user advice

Hi all, I’ve just bought a P2S combo after using an Ender 3 pro for the last seven years, and what a difference! I’m very pleased with the printer overall, although so far I’ve only done about 25 hours of printing, and no real problems.

I’d like to ask a few questions so hope this doesn’t get too long a post!

Firstly, what sort of spares/accessories I should have to hand (if any), I bought a 0.2 nozzle and a smooth PEI bed with the printer and plan on getting another couple of 0.4 nozzles for Christmas, what else should I get?

What filament do others use, I’ve got some very old generic PLA, some eSun PLA+ and PETG+ and a couple of spools of Bambu PLA and PETG, so far all of them seem to print fine on the basic profile settings with the printer, but are there any really good filaments and are there any to avoid? Also there any specialist filament profiles out there

A friend pointed out that there are several ‘pattern’ nozzles (with removable tips!!) on a couple of the Chinese web sites, he tells me they are a third of the price of genuine Bambu nozzles - are these ok to use with Bambu printers or is it a no-no?

Any other advice would be appreciated, although the P2S seems to be hands-free, whereas the Ender was a real engineers toy, needing constant tweaking to get good prints, or to get any print at all sometimes…

Welcome to the forum.

I wouldn’t suggest using the cheap “third party” nozzles. The Bambu ones are inexpensive and honestly you don’t need to change them as they last many thousands of hours.

Cheers for that, I suppose I’m basing the need to change the nozzle on my Ender - they were only brass and wore out rapidly with some filaments, then again they were cheap, you’d get dozens for the price of a single Bambu one!

Hi, have you found any more info on the topic? I have the same questions as you.

I’m just plodding along, I got a couple of spare nozzles for Christmas and a spare build plate of which none have been used. As for filament, the Bambu works great and the eSun is very good, I’m still experimenting with different settings here and there, but no-one else has responded with any more advice, I guess that with the P2S only being 3 months since release we’ll have to wait a while and see what breaks or doesn’t!
