P2S + VentoBox, someone has any "scientific" VOC measurments?

Thank you. Thank you very much.

for what its worth, it for sure helps lessen smells. you can also print a vent that connects on the under outside left exhaust, connect a hose and vent to the window with the ventobox fan moving the air.

Hi everyone, I built a very effective filtration system for my printer. I mainly print ABS and ASA in a closed room without any option to ventilate the space. The whole setup cost me around €90. If anyone is interested, I can share details and photos.

Hello,

For the fan I used the TOOLCRAFT FE-300, which has speed control and very good performance for this purpose.
The filters supplied with the extractor are not effective for 3D printing with ASA/ABS, so I removed them and built my own filtration unit.

In the filtration unit I placed a layer of filter fabric on the grid, and on top of that I poured about 2 kg of activated carbon used for air filtration systems.

The frame and the grid fit inside the TOOLCRAFT FE-300.
From the flexible hose I removed the original attachment, and the inner diameter of the hose fits perfectly into this model:

It is necessary to print the Riser, which allows contaminated air to be extracted from the printer.

If you are interested, I can explain how the filter works and why there are air gaps inside the design.
This is my third version. I spent several months experimenting before reaching the current filtration performance.

During printing I extract only enough air so that the temperature in the printer does not drop below 50 °C.
This creates a slight negative pressure inside the printer, which means that contaminated air does not escape through gaps or ventilation openings. Instead, air is drawn into the printer, and the only path for it to leave is through the filtration unit.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’m happy to share the results of several months of development.

At the filter outlet the air is perfectly cleaned and completely odorless.
I print only ASA and ABS in a room without windows, and even during **20+ hour prints the styrene smell is not noticeable.

hi can we talk about your filtration system im looking to get one so I can print abs and asa

Of course, ask, if I know, I’ll be happy to answer.

I also have made what seems to be a pretty effective filtration system for my P2S but I used the PCB and fan from the exhaust kit. It takes air out from the poop shute through a commercial HEPA/carbon filter and feeds it back into the grill next to the poop shute, I have the old backplate. Seems to be pretty effective, the printer is in our living room, and my wife hasn’t commented on any nasty smells yet from the ABS I’ve been printing and the air quality monitor stays in the green.
Filter is a Leviot Core mini, about £12 for 2, 60mm dia approx flexi pipe about £10, both from UK ebay.

i have one in my p1 and it works great no smell

I say this every time but the way to be sure is to enclose the printer and vent the enclosure outside.

The door and lid of the printer is not airtight, and this should be obvious.

You can purchase tents specifically made for printers in the various online stores e.g. AliExpress.

I bought the mintion Filtration System v1 and it wants me to print a special adapter because i have the P2S unit has anyone done this before im struggling to find a good print and I dont have screws to mount the adapter to the back of the new panel.
