Can anyone tell me what is causing this strange very even layer abnormality with nylon six carbon fiber 20. Other than wet filament, what are your suggestions on the cause of this? These odd layer bulges are perfectly spaced At 2mm. is it the nozzle clumping setting? nylon has to be continuously printed and can’t sit in the nozzle heated for any period of time stagnant.
It’s obviously a z band but I cannot see why it is taking place is there a setting anywhere that tells the printer to sit for longer than normal, Every 2mm? Important note, left nozzle PPA-CF inner core 100%infill walls are pa6cf
H2 platform uses belt on Z right? This is setting off my GT2 belt tooth/tension alarm
Your eyes will help here, When the object is printed, during printing, do you see the nozzle clump getting triggered? You will see it as a retraction and the printer will move somewhere off-model and do something [printer model dependant] before heading back.
Is it going to perform the same function as the A1 series printers. I checked the setting in “others it is set to off”. I’ll try printing it again. I changed out to pa612 so I’ll switch back and update.
Okay I sat here and watched it for awhile. The one and only thing I see it do different from any other nozzle switch is it performs a nozzle clean. It will wipe the nozzle and that extra time must cause that layer issue. But honestly I really don’t know what is causing it. It’s gotta be that nozzle wipe.
What do you mean “different from any other nozzle switch”? Is there a support material in use? This looks like single color. If it’s retreating to the purge area to wipe at all its probably some sort of clump detection. I dont have this device though so I will not presume much further.
If other filaments dont do this, I would measure the filament in a bunch of spots and compare diameters. Imagine one guide wheel in a filament manufacturing line was slightly offset on its axis, or bent, before the water bath. It will stretch at certain points, equally spaced apart.
Because the layers is consistantly spaced, I would guess filament diameter or legit z wobble.

Thats wild that its like that, right after the seam. Almost like a wacky PA value and z wobble. Havnt seen this one before
