I am packing up my Bambu lab P1S with an AMS system for a little bit. It’ll be packed up for maybe 2-4 weeks. Is there any maintenance I need to do before putting into a box? And should I put hte AMS inside of the printer, or is that a bad idea? Do I leave the build plate on? I just want to make sure my printer is ok when I unbox it in 2-4 weeks. Are you moving?
If your not moving, all you need to do is unload the filament.
If you are moving, secure it like it was originally packed.

Why do you need to even move it/pack it at all? You concerned someone may try and use it. If I was going on a road trip for a month I “might” consider taking the filament out of the AMS but I have everything plugged into a power strip and I would probably turn off the power strip and that would be it. The printer falls in the category of “Sensitive Electronic Equipment” so turning off the power strip prevents some sort of electrical surges while you are gone.

The packing guide will be good to follow then. Especially if it is in the back of a moving truck.
The big thing is to secure the heat bed by screwing it down and zip tieing the toolhead in place.
Extra points if you still have the brackets from unpacking.
I would put the plate all the way down, and that’s about it. Maybe if you’re feeling antsy, stuff a couple towels or something inside of it to fill the space and prevent sliding of the gantry from gravity as you move it. If you’re doing like hard core moving, trucks, boats, etc, you might want to do more securing, try to find the original screw holes that secured the bed and situate it, and ensure that the head can’t move either thru interference or a cable tie or something.
Enclosed printers are their own box. 
The packing guide is definitely a good tool but is somewhat dependent on you having the original box that the printer came in. It is a very rugged box as cardboard boxes go and the fit is perfect. Depending on if you are going to move it yourself or have it shipped is also something to take into consideration because how you handle your printer may be significantly better than someone doing the move for you.

It shouldnt be an issue if the box with the printer will just be standing stationary in a dry environment.
You could put some desiccant bags in the printer and AMS to be extra safe. If you’re putting the AMS in the printer i would leave the build plate on, as it is less sensitive than the heatbed.
Now if the box will be moving around you need to make sure the AMS doesnt shake around inside the printer. Mounting it like Bambu did it originally for shipping is recommended.
