Painted area prints in correct color but only one layer thick

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a model in Bambu Studio with different sections assigned to different filament colors.

In this model there is a triangle‑shaped area that originally didn’t have the correct color.
I used the Color Painting tool to assign it to the green filament so it would match the other green sections.
(See the attached image highlighting the triangle.)

Issue
After painting and assigning the green filament, the area does print in green — but it only prints as a single layer.
All the other green areas have multiple layers and therefore end up higher than this triangle.

Question
Is there any way in Bambu Studio to adjust the settings so that the painted area is printed with the same number of layers / same height as the other green areas?
(See image for reference.)

Thanks a lot for any tips or workflows that could help!

Does the height range modifier work ? or do you need to create each part as a seperate object and add colour using object mode

Thnx @Neiljt

That’s interesting!

My model is a mountain area, so it has a different heights each next mm.
In this model, there are some areas where the model does not show forests, so I will have to paint those areas manually.

I guess that using modifiers here might be challenging, as the areas have very uneven and frayed edges.

Or do you mean something else?

using the modifier on this model has painted the entire layer

I think this works for everything on the same layer, right?

As my model is a mountain area, the missing forest I paint in one section is on layer X, and in another section on layer X +5. So, I am painting over changing layer heights.

Here’s an example of the model:

paint each object , seperatley , if thats how you have modelled it

I guess the issue is that technically speaking; I am painting only part of the ‘rock’ object, in the color of the other object ‘forest’.

So I am looking at defining the number of layers to be printed, for the painted area.
