Panda Knomi Network Drag?

I have several of these setup. One is physically attached to the A1Mini (because attaching more than one is not really a good idea, as I found out). The others are in a neat little stand in my living room so I can monitor all of my printers from a different room without touching my iPad or computer. I glance over and see the print status. It works.
However, I was noticing a serious drag on my network and started to do a little digging around. Through a process of elimination (without going through the minutiae), I found that the Knomi’s were hitting the network hard. I pulled them down and the network is back humming along.
It looks like they are pulling status to a degree that it is impacting the data flow. AppleTalk used to suffer from this. This is by no means a negative thread against the Panda products. I’m just trying to get my head around why there’s such a heavy packet flow with these and if there’s something I can do to alleviate some of this.

Has ANYONE come across this?

Why not ask the firmware developer directly, or post it as a bug report? Maybe they haven’t noticed it themselves yet, and you’re the first one to spot it. I couldn’t find any reports of this specific bug on GitHub at first glance. That’s where you have the best chance of it being heard - right at the source, so to speak:
