Hi guys. Can someone explain what is going on.
I’ve uploaded model for contest. I made it parametric as required.
Today I found that I got 0 points for this model since upload. But model page shows it was parametrized 40 times (this means downloaded?). So, looks like i should get some points, but i see 0.
Does this mean, parametrization is not rewarded? Can someone explain it?
I read a post last week that said that points were based on downloads+(prints*2), with a score of 10 earning 15 points. You have 8 downloads and 1 print, so your score is 10, so you should get some points on that basis. Points are awarded at 22:00 UTC the following day, so you might want to check your Creator Center data to find out when your downloads and prints were recorded.
This pattern is consistent with my regular prints, but I haven’t reached that level on a PMM project yet, so I can’t confirm. Maybe it works differently with PMM.

But there is also 42 “Customize”, that should be counted somehow, but seems to me it’s completely ignored.
Customize counts up as soon as the customizer is loaded. You can close it and open it again and get a second count.
So, you think 42 “Customize” haven’t created missing couple downloads to get reward points? I just analyzed my another model after a year of publishing. Same picture. I see points only for downloads+prints. Customize count pretty big to be disappeared. Waiting for support reply.

Customised usage has nothing to do with any points.
Downloads and prints do. The equation is A+(Cx2).
19+(2x2) = 23 >> 19+4= 23
The new confusion is points are not assigned at the same points as they used to be nor when they begin to be issued.
Customised models are at a disadvantage for points as prints are significantly less likely.
What they mean is that just opening the customizer increments the customized count, but if they never downloaded it after customizing it then it won’t get you a download as it wasn’t downloaded, its people looking to see how it looks with their settings
As a follow up, my one PMM model just crossed the threshold for points - 6 downloads, 3 prints = 6+(3*2) = 12. Points were awarded last night after 10pm. Interestingly, it only earned 14 points, whilst my other models have earned 15 each time.
I have never used parametric models. However one day I became curious and opened up a few random models, just to see how it worked, Even though I played with the customizer, I didn’t download or print anything.
Got reply from support, experimented myself. Looks like it’s calculated correctly. Users just loose interest after opening customizer. Too sad to realize that nonparametric models are much more frequently downloaded and becoming more popular.
It is unfortunate that the usefulness and value of parametric models are not properly recognized. I have uploaded various parametric models to my account, and some of them have gained considerable popularity. However, due to the nature of parametric models, direct printing is limited and most are downloaded, resulting in relatively few points being earned. To revitalize parametric models, MakerWorld needs to make efforts such as rewarding those who download and rate them. Since parametric models are not preferred by those unfamiliar with them compared to models that can be printed easily, we must ensure they have a positive experience. Furthermore, those who upload high-quality parametric models should be given greater rewards. Creating parametric models requires more effort than creating standard models.
